Dalkey Dolphins

Dalkey Dolphins Dalkey Dolphins

I shot a pod of Dolphins yesterday in Killiney bay for a couple of hours.

It was amazing as you could not tell where they were going to breach next.
I think they were just playing with each other, or maybe trying to get warm, as it was one of the coldest mornings
with snow everywhere.

Out of 300 frames I got about two that I would be happy with!
You would not believe how hard it is to hand hold a long lens for a couple of hours with no gloves on
and try to focus, keep the horizon level, and not fall in as the rocks were very icy.
All in all I’m delighted with this one

Terry, really lovely shots here – keep up the good work, lash all your photos up here and make sure you tag them all so they get indexed by google images – Getty will buy you out in 2011:)

Great picture…it pays to stick around sometimes waiting for a shot.

This is exquisite too. Very intimate shot that gives you the feeling that the dolphins are the only ones in the bay, enjoying a romantic moment together!

Saw this shot in Dalkey today – hard to believe that this was taken locally – well done – wish I was there – dont know if I would have the patients

It’s one of those fluky shots. There was no patience or patients involved.
you see Dolphins jumping out of the water and what else do you do?
anyone there with half a knowledge of cameras could have got it.
Modern cameras with autofocus and image stabilization make these images easy to capture.
Come down to my new gallery, 3a Castle street to see some real work.
Manually focused, time exposures, crafty stuff!

    Hi Terry
I was in the dentist the other day and saw some of your fab snow photos. They were beautiful. Made up for having to be at dentist! But I was wondering are they on display anywhere? If so I would love to see them.
