Ann’s Bakery
I had the great pleasure to work once again with some bakers, I used to be a baker once.
Ann’s Bakery on Mary Street is a hive of activity and all the bread is freshly baked on the premises. I captured some lovely moody images for a test shoot I was doing, here’s one of my favourites.

Sunday Tribune Advertisement
This image was shot in two parts, The Shotgun with smoke on a nice moody background and the rugby balls separately.
I really enjoy shooting strong simple still life in the studio.
Shane Cullen Art
This shot is all about keeping things simple – one light, no colour, no Photoshop – just good old-fashioned emulsion and chemicals!
It’s a digital router etching out type in Styrofoam for Shane Cullen’s piece, The Agreement. The two little arms are air jets to keep the process clean. The artist used to do similar work by hand, but considering these panels were 12 feet high and he had 55 to complete, he would still be at it today! The shot was taken in Spring, 2002.

Bonfire lights up inaugural NNI ‘Press Ad of the Month’ competition
Dublin-based agency Bonfire has won the National Newspapers of Ireland (NNI) ‘Press Ad of the Month’ competition for an eye-catching ad created on behalf of online betting firm Betfair.
Bonfire’s ‘Stuff the bookies’ ad, which features broadcaster Eamon Dunphy, was chosen as the winner of the April competition by judges Emmet Wright of Chemistry and David Sneddon of Mindshare.
‘Stuff the bookies’ was photographed by Terry McDonagh, written by Bonfire’s Ian Doherty, art directed by Sean Hynes and the media planner was Gemma Corbett of MediaVest.
I really enjoyed working with these guys, they were all great fun.

Red Lady Awaits Green Man
I was commissioned to photograph Dillingers restaurant in Ranelagh, Dublin 6.
The interiors speak for themselves www.dillingers.ie, but it’s very difficult to get an interesting exterior, on a busy street, with an ugly pedestrian crossing.
So I spotted this lovely old lady approaching, and realized that her jacket matched the awning, as she stood there waiting impatiently, for the green man, I shot frantically, resulting in this wonderful composition.
I obtained a silver award for this image, from the IPPA. In the pictorial category.
